Vico Cave House
“Casa Cueva Vico” is a rural house available for exclusive rental, ideal for large groups, as it can accommodate a total of 18 people. It offers 8 comfortable double rooms and two single rooms. Casa Cueva Vico also features three living rooms, four bathrooms, a terrace, and an extraordinary industrial kitchen and dining area. It opened its doors as a rural house in 2021, with tourism registration CR/GR/00339, and is located in Freila, a small town in the heart of the Geopark of Granada, which provides all the necessary services for a comfortable and pleasant stay.
The cave area was constructed at the end of the 18th century, and the house’s other part in the 1940s. It has been occupied almost continuously since that time until the present day, resulting from the labor activity of its inhabitants, the family’s unit members, the changing fashions and tastes of different eras, and the increase in the purchasing power of its residents.
The caves maintain a constant temperature throughout the year, both in winter and summer. While the outside temperature may change, inside the cave, the average temperature remains around 20 degrees Celsius, naturally and ecologically. Interestingly, the beds are equipped the same way in both winter and summer. While it may be 40 degrees outside, inside the cave, you need to sleep with a duvet.
